I cannot review the food here or the service as they were closed at 5:30. It says they are open until 7:00, but obviously that doesn't work every day. I'm really bummed because I was hoping to try this place out. I'm giving four stars due to it being closed at a time when they were allegedly supposed to be open.

I was looking around for a good soul food restaurant last night. We normally go out of the state to eat. I looked online and found this place. I read the reviews. I just wanted to check it out for myself. The fried whiting was super delicious. It was season very well. The yams were also delicious. They ran out of the Mac n cheese. So, that tells me that it is good. We will definitely be ordering from here again. Hopefully they get the support and be around for years to come. There are no good food places to eat here in Dover and in Delaware.

Was looking for fried fish in the area and happen upon Tastee’s chicken and seafood. I ordered whiting, yams and greens. The staff (2 ladies) were so professional and kind. The food was made to perfection. Fish was fresh and seasoned so well with a slight crunch to it. The yams were not too sweet and soft as ever. The collard greens to not have had meat in them were so good. I think I definitely found a soul food spot to spend my money at !!! Thank you for such great service ladies. And yes I ate some before taking a photo lol

Compared to my other whiting platter local fav hot spots, i loved this healthy natural seasoning bake on my fish. My doordash driver was fantastic! So sweet and nice, and I wish I could give 5stars solely on how professional she was with this restaurant. The onion ring side was extra stacked, great proportions. I expected the macaroni to be a hit but sadly it didn't meet my expectations. I ordered cake thinking they had vanilla, it was lemon cake. Yuck. Honestly It does look tasty though.

Great fries with a crunchy coating. Catfish was perfectly cooked, with a thin cornmeal coating having just the right amount of crispiness. Nice sauce for the fish. Fried chicken was crunchy and tasty with a great spicy-sweet sauce; chicken didn’t have a puddle of oil under it, so kudos for draining it well out of the fryer. Collards were ok, but had too much smoke flavoring ( liquid smoke?)—prefer a more mild smoky taste from cooking it with smoked meat. Super nice folks dishing up delicious food. Service was quick. Edit 3/2024: Went back for more. Same good opinion. Tried mac&cheese and didn’t like it-strong paprika flavor giving it a bitter undertone, but otherwise very cheesy and generous serving. Still 5 stars Edit 8/2025: still 5 stars. They were closed for awhile. They are back! Same delicious fried catfish and our favorite fries.

This is our second time buying food here and it won’t be the last. We have ordered fried flounder, fried whiting and fried shrimp. All were well seasoned and large pieces. The greens, mac n cheese, and candied yams were great and large portions. Hopefully, every thing will stay consistent, food quality and quantity……I don’t mind paying more but hate when restaurants start skimping. Brenda
